Family

History:

Oak Springs Farm was started down in Manakin Sabot, VA by Virgil Ewing. In 1933 Locust Hill Farm was started where Oak Springs Farm WV is today. My father Joseph Ewing Sr. started Locust Hill Farm from some very humble beginnings and grew it run several head of beef cattle. Starting in 2020 we decided to rename Locust Hill to Oak Springs Farm in memory of Virgil but keep the beef cattle and humble beginnings that my father instilled in me. So today we welcome all of you to the Ewing Ranch.

Philosophy:

While we maintain our history we have adapted a bit. We aim to produce the healthiest food we can and in the most sustainable way possible. We follow the plan put out by Joel Salatin and the practices he uses at PolyFace Farms. Honestly we talk about this for days. Its best you come out and visit the farm and see where your food really comes from. We can enjoy a nice cold sweet tea and chat under the shade tree.

Family:

The wife and I strive to include our children in as much of the farm as possible. It is important to us that develop understanding hard work and learn the values needed to succeed in this crazy world. We also rely on other family members and friends we consider family. As our page develops we will begin introducing them, they deserve all the recognition we can give them.

We welcome you Oak Springs Farm WV!
